Homemade Hot Cocoa

This homemade hot cocoa is one of the most simple recipes to make on a cold winter day and it's so much better than a packet. It's rich, creamy, chocolate-y deliciousness in a mug!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 Cup Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Cocoa Powder Dutch Cocoa Powder tastes best, but any will taste good.
  • 1/2 Cup Milk Chocolate Chips
  • 1/2 tsp. Vanilla
  • 4 Cups Milk

Instructions

  • Heat your milk, sugar, and cocoa powder on the stove over medium heat and whisk until well combined.
  • Stir constantly until the mixture comes to a simmer, then add in your vanilla and chocolate chips and stir until the chocolate is melted.
  • Serve immediately into a mug and top with whipped cream or marshmallows!

Keep the hot cocoa warm in crock pot to serve the same day or store the leftovers in the fridge for 2-3 days in an airtight container as long as your milk is still fresh.
