I CAN’T WAIT to help you LEARN THE SKILLS TO A BIT MORE SELF-SUFFICIENT! (EVEN IF IT’S JUST ONE TOMATO PLANT ON THE BACK PATIO)
I live in Exeter which is a wonderful small town near the foothills of Central California. For my fellow gardeners, it’s gardening zone 9b.
I used to spend most of my time working on my little farm and working on multiple cattle ranches in the area.
And let me tell you there is nothing I’d rather do. Spending time outdoors in God’s beautiful country completely fills me with happiness! I am constantly amazed by how beautiful the outdoors really is.
In May of 2022, my husband and I had our first baby. So now I stay home with our son and take care of my little farm. And I am thankful that our son loves being out with the chickens and in the garden just as much as I do!
As an infant, my dad who is a cattle rancher, always took me horseback with him which is where my passion began for ranching and riding.
And my mom passed along a gene from her dad for loving chickens and gardening, (if that’s really a gene)!
So I am blessed to say that because of both of my parents, I have had a lifelong passion for the little things in life that make me the happiest; ranching, riding, gardening, and raising chickens!
From a young kid, I have always grown a garden and had chickens, but as I’ve gotten older it has become more and more of a passion.
In February of 2018, when I realized how much time I actually was spending in my garden and with my chickens, I decided it was time to build a new coop right next to my garden.
So for a couple of months straight my grandpa and I spent every free moment building away on what is now my absolute dream chicken coop!
And right after that, I decided to start this blog. I wanted to be able to share my experiences, teach, and encourage others to find their passion and accomplish whatever ideas come along, big or small!
So I hope my blog does just that…
