Every year when the Christmas season rolls around, this is one of my go to recipes. I always love to try out new recipes but there are a few recipes that I have to make every year.
And this is one of them.
Other than the Hershey’s candy cane kisses, the other ingredients are ingredients I always have on hand which makes them so quick and easy to throw together.
I don’t mind recipes with lots of steps and unique ingredients, but it sure is nice to make simple recipes, especially when they still taste so good.
So be sure to add this Candy Cane Kiss Cookie recipe to your baking list this holiday season.
What Are Candy Cane Kisses?
Candy Cane Kisses are a festive twist on the classic Hershey’s Kisses that we all know and love. Instead of the traditional chocolate, these are white chocolate flavored with a hint of peppermint and have cute little red stripes throughout.
They’re perfect for adding a bit of holiday cheer to cookies, and I love using them in this recipe for that extra burst of peppermint flavor!
You won’t be disappointed.

How Do You Stick Candy to Cookies?
Sticking candy to cookies is all about timing.
The trick is to add your Candy Cane Kisses (or whatever candy you’re using) right after the cookies come out of the oven while they’re still warm. The heat will slightly melt the candy, allowing it to stick to the cookie without falling off.
Make sure to gently press the candy into the cookie, but not too hard, or you might flatten it. It’s as easy as that!
How to Make Candy Cane Kiss Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 egg
- 2 cups flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- Red and green colored sugar
- 1 bag of Candy Cane Hershey Kisses

Steps
First: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Second: Cream together butter, sugar, vanilla, and milk in a large bowl. Then add in egg.
Third: In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and salt. Then add to the butter mixture.
Fourth: Add 1/4 cup of sugar to two separate small bowls and then add a few drops of red food coloring to one bowl and a few drops of green food coloring to the other.
Mix the sugar and food coloring so that you have red sugar and green sugar.
You can just choose one color if you prefer. Or just plain white granulated sugar if you don’t have food coloring.
Fifth: Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and then roll half of the dough balls in the red colored sugar and the other half in the green colored sugar.
Then place them on a cookie sheet lined with silicone baking mats or parchment paper.
Sixth: Bake at 350°F for 8-10 minutes. Each over varies so additional time may be needed. While the cookies are baking unwrap all the Hershey kisses and set them aside.
Seventh: After the cookies are done baking, remove them from the oven and place them on wire cooling racks.
Let them cool for a few minutes, then press a kiss on top of each cookie.
